From fairy lights to light-up statues, here are the best outdoor Christmas lights house decorations across the borough.

  1. Basingstoke Workshop

Basingstoke Gazette:

Father-of-three, Keith Brown, from Basingstoke, started creating his festive display almost 15 years ago, now needing at least four people to help install all his extravagant light sculptures and adds an extra £600 to his electricity bill each year. You can find his festive exhibition every night in the run up to Christmas on Brackley Way which will be lighting the roads up until the new year.  

2. North Pole Close

Basingstoke Gazette:

Over the years, James and his wife Grace Saviour, have brought a little piece of the North Pole to sunny Basingstoke, and this year is no exception with his display taking a full month to install after converting their Chorlton home into a winter wonderland. The family welcomed in the community for their annual switch-on last month with the likes of Cllr Ian Carr and members of St John the Baptist Church in attendance.

3. Andover Winter Wonderland

Basingstoke Gazette: Festive fellow, Phil Bowman, has decorated his house with Christmas lights for the second year running in order to raise money for the charity Survivors of Bereavement by Suicide (SOBS). The Winchester charity helped him and his wife through some troubling times over the past year after the loss of their beloved stepson Aaron Bowman who passed away on February 1, 2018. You can find this display in the Andover cul-de-sac and donate to the charity via their JustGiving page.

4. Baughurst Grotto

Basingstoke Gazette:

The Saunders family have transformed their house on Birch Road, Baughurst into Santa’s Grotto, accompanied with Santa’s elves and all his reindeer in their seasonal front garden supporting the Forget Me Not charity. The family have gained a reputation for their extreme festive activities and the family have successfully delivered one again, with fellow residents taking in the bright lights in the neighbourhood.

 

5. The Greatest Snowman 

Basingstoke Gazette:

Peter Matthew's spent the whole year preparing for this years Christmas display, designing his lights through xLights software which allows his lights to dance along to the Christmas songs. He has organised these shows to help raise money for a family friend who is currently suffering from brain cancer who are accepting donations on the night. The father-of-one arranges 20-minute long performances each week starting at 6pm located at the top of the Topiary road in Lychpit with the next performance starting tonight (December 24).
