An assault in Beggarwood park on Thursday evening left a man "shaken and putting on a brave face", as told by his daughter.

A 66-year-old man was walking his dog through Beggarwood park holding his 3-year-old grandson when another man is reported to have assaulted him.

The boy was said to be extremely upset after the pair were 'grabbed and pushed around'.

The man is described as being around 5ft 9in, stocky, and over 50.

Hampshire Constabulary said: "We were called at 3.41pm. A dog walker reported being threatened and grabbed by another man. There were no injuries reported."
