BUSINESS in Basingstoke is booming, according to one of the winners of last week’s Inspire awards.

Laura Haystaff, Company Director of The Topiary, who have two hair salons in Basingstoke, made the comments shortly after receiving the Small Business of the Year award.

“We’ve worked really hard the last couple of years, we’ve invested in another salon in Basingstoke.

“Business in Basingstoke is booming and it’s amazing and it’s really nice to invest in business.

“It’s been a tough year, obviously with the way things are with the economy, but it’s been great and we’re really proud to win this award this evening.

“I’d like to thank our customers, without them we’d be nothing, but I’ve got a great team of 12 staff that help me run my business and that’s super important.”

Following the success of the salon in Old Basing, The Topiary opened their second salon on Kingsclere Road, near the Chapel Gate estate.

Debbie Loveridge, owner of Perpetual Flowers, who sponosred the award, said: “I am really pleased that The Topiary Hair Salon won the Small Business of the Year award for 2019.

“They have achieved so much over the past couple of years and it’s great that we can recognise their achievements with this well deserved award.

“Laura and Matt have shown vision and ambition to grow their business over the last few years, as with most small businesses, have overcome challenges along the way.”
