THE LITTLE Tikes car maybe a mainstay of the backyard racing scene, but one car was seen graduating to a higher league - Basingstoke’s Ringway.
The characteristic pink and yellow car was spotted on the back of a flatbed truck in the town - and has since shot to fame on social media.
Richard Clayton, the driver of the truck, said he wasn’t expecting it to be so popular.
“It’s not the first time I’ve done it but it’s the time that’s got the most attention.”
When asked by the Gazette why he decided to tow the children’s toy, he said: “It’s just a laugh, why not? There’s plenty of doom and gloom in the world, but it’s just a laugh.
“I see people pointing in their mirrors and taking photos.”
He was on his way to pick up a machine from Basing View, taking it back to Matlock in Derbyshire.
Jamie Weatherhead, who took the photo, said: “I was a little like is this real then said oh my god! I was amused all day.”
Another person added: "It made my day."
