Name: Jonathan Jenkin.

Age: 34

Education background (school/ college/ university): A dergree in Politics and International Relations from The University of Nottingham in.

Profession: I work in the events industry.

Family life:  I'm married.

What car do you drive? I drive a VW Golf.

Where did you last go on holiday? My last holiday was a staycation in Basingstoke.

What was the last thing you ate? An M&S curry box.

Have you ever taken illegal drugs? Yes, a long time ago in my mispent youth.

When was the last time you cried? I watched the Dark Knight rises last night and had a bit of a cry to that. Furnerals in films always get me.

What is your favourite book of all time? It's either Waiting for the Barbarians By J. M. Coetzee Or Animal Farm by George Orwell.

What are your ties to the area you hope to represent? I've lived in Basingstoke for some years now and would love to help make Basingstoke a greener and better place to live.

What’s your favourite restaurant in Basingstoke/ Andover/ North East Hampshire? I really enjoy food in this area, putting my finger on one place seems impossible. I've not tried some of the more expensive places which I'm sure are super lovely.

Where do you do your food shopping? Living in Chineham we shop at Tesco or Lidl, however if it's a special occasion we go to the Chineham M&S.

Describe your perfect Friday night: I think a perfect Friday is to difficult for one to imagine, it'd have to be Schrodinger's Friday night, simaltianuly a nice quiet night in with a lovely bottle of red, a film and nice fluffy blanket, while at the same time, being a relatively loud, bouncy night with my friends at the pub or an event.

What’s your favourite drink? I probably drink more coffee than anything else.

Best place in Hampshire in your opinion? My lovely little flat with my wife in it. But outside that the area has some Fanastic pubs, it would be unfair to make me pick my favourite!

Do you think MPs should be allowed to hire their family members? No.

In a sentence, why do you deserve the gig? Umm, not sure i'm trying out for a gig. I think being someone who lives a modest life in Basingstoke and has more or less the same problems as most of the people here. Unlike some, I would be able to represent the people and help us move to a more sustainable model for the future.

What do you think the biggest issue facing residents of Basingstoke is? I don't think there is just one big issue here, there are lots of issues, some people find that the air is bad, some that the only a tiny percent of our power comes from renewable soures is a big problem, for others it's homelessness, for others it might be the level of crime in the area, I really think it deminishes the responsibility of the role to ask for the single biggest issue because everyone is fighting their own battles and a public servant is there to help stand shoulder to shoulder with them.

In a sentence, what do you want to change if you are elected? Things need to change, nearly everyone understands that, the sooner we do it the easier it will be, the longer we take the worse the impact, for me it's about getting as much done as soon as possible.
