Motorists travelling on the M3 northbound this morning after facing delays of over an hour after three lorries were involved in a crash.

Emergency services are at the scene after three lorries collided before the M25 junction 12 shortly after 7am.

Three lanes are closed leaving drivers stuck in eight miles of traffic queued back to Farnborough. 

Highways England tweeted: "Three lanes are closed at this time after multiple vehicle crash. Please take care on approach. Updates to follow."

The account warned: "Severe delays: #M3 #Surrey eastbound between J3 #Lightwatwer #Bagshot and J2 (#M25) due to incident closing lanes 2, 3 and 4.

"There are approximately eight miles of congestion back to J4 #Frimley #Farnborough, expected to add 90 mins onto usual travel times. #M25 #London motorists plan ahead."
