A PROLIFIC thief who stole more than £250 worth of sweets and chocolates has been jailed for eight weeks.
Craig William Mahon, of no fixed abode appeared at Basingstoke Magistrates Court on November 7 where he pleaded guilty to seven counts of theft.
The court hear how between October 23, 2019 and November 5, 2019 the 29-year-old stole various items from a BP express store.
Magistrates heard that on one occasion he stole sweets and biscuits to the value of £100 from the store and then a day later stole £150 worth of chocolate from the same store.
In total Mahon stole items totalling £673.
Magistrates sentenced him to eight weeks in jail for each count to run concurrently.
Mahon was also ordered to pay £122 victim surcharge.
