HEAVY rain across Basingstoke could cause transport disruption today (Saturday), weather experts have warned.
The Met Office has issued a yellow weather warning for Basingstoke today, which is set to remain in place until midnight tonight.
People are warned to expect “bus and train services probably affected with journey times taking longer” as well as “spray and flooding on roads probably making journey times longer”.
The band of rain, heavy at times, arrived from the West this morning, with up to 30mm set to land in places. It is then expected to clear southbound overnight.
Travel disruption has already been caused with railway engineering works taking place between Basingstoke and Woking.
A replacement bus service is in place between the two towns.
