A THIEF who went of a spree stealing meat from supermarkets has been jailed.
Jay Alex Charles Sleator, of no fixed abode, appeared at Basingstoke Magistrates Court having pleaded guilty to 13 counts of theft.
The court heard that between August 30 and October 21, 2019 the 30-year-old stole meat and cleaning products from various supermarkets across Basingstoke.
During the spree Sleator stole more than £270 worth of meat from the Tesco store in Oakridge, more than £400 from the M&S food store in Chineham and £51 worth of washing products.
Magistrates sentence Sleator to 16 weeks in jail to run concurrently for each count, he was also ordered to pay £329 in compensation.
