AN INVESTIGATION has been launched after a man was assaulted in the Anvil car park.

A 25-year-old man was sat on a wall by the disabled car parking spaces on September 30 when he was approached by another man and punched in the face twice between.

The incident took place sometime between 2.20pm and 2.30pm.

The victim is said to have suffered an injury to his eye.

The person who carried out the assault was described as being white, aged in his early twenties, of a medium build and had brown hair.

Officers believe that two women and a man stopped to help the victim directly after the incident and are appealing for them to come forward to help with the investigation.
