SEVERAL train services have been cancelled and delayed after a problem that is "currently under investigation".

Services to and from London Waterloo are affected after the incident, which happened somewhere between the capital and Clapham Junction.

A statement on the South Western Railway website said: "We are currently investigating reports of a problem with a train between Clapham Junction and London Waterloo.

"As a result, some lines are currently blocked.

"We are very sorry for any delay that this may cause to your journey."

A number of services, including the 12.07 to Exeter St David's and the 12.38 to Yeovil Pen Mill have been cancelled, whilst services including the 12.49 to Weymouth and 13.00 to Portsmouth Harbour are currently delayed.

This comes after a signalling issue between Winchester and Basingstoke caused disruption on the trains this morning.

Services were delayed by up to 25 minutes.
