MORE than 400 people who were dressed in their pyjamas took on a 8.5-mile walk for charity last weekend.

The Moonlight Walk raising money for St Michael’s Hospice, set off from Festival Place at 10pm.

Laura Holmes, Event Manager at St Michael’s Hospice said, “The atmosphere on the night was fantastic and it was incredible to see the crowds getting involved with our theme together to take on this challenge to raise funds for our Hospice. We are so grateful for all the support we have received this year with many people walking in memory of a loved one who had received care at our Hospice which was very special.

“We would like to say a huge thank you to everyone who took part in the event, as well as our volunteers, and organisations who supported the event including: Basingstoke Deane Rotary Club, Lavazza Professional, Basingstoke Rugby Club, Storck, Festival Place, Hatch Warren Runners, Fyffes, Routine Riots, Site Equip, Chris Burford Entertainment and Hampshire and Berkshire 4 x 4.

“Following the success of this year’s event we can’t wait to start planning for Moonlight Walk 2020.”
