KNOW N as the longest running ‘family variety show’ in the area, the Basingstoke Gang Show is set to return next year.

The biennial Gang Show will feature more than 70 youngsters made up of members of various scout and girl guiding troops.

This year marks the productions 27th show and will showcase a range of different performances in song, dance and comedy.

After a lengthy audition process, the acts which will appear on next year’s show have been selected and now the rehearsal process is underway.

The production team have been busy creating an array of numbers with wonderful choreography, sensational songs and hilarious sketches that make the Basingstoke Gang Show fresh, relevant, edgy and fun.

Steve Edney, Basingstoke Gang Show chairman, said: “This is when things start to get exciting for us as we start putting all the pieces of the puzzle together.

“There is so much work that goes into the Gang Show, but each time we bring it to the stage the audiences absolutely love it.”

He added: “There are people who tell me it is an event that they always look forward to, and I am looking forward to bringing this latest crop of performers to the Basingstoke stage once more.”

There will be 11 performances of the Gang Show at the Haymarket across a 10-day period, many of the shows taking place over the February half term week.

This amateur production is not to be missed, as it showcases the very best of local talent in the Scout and Guide associations.

Basingstoke Gang Show will be showcased between February 13 and February 22, 2020, with matinee performances February 15 and February 22.
