The closure of the lines is having an effect on services through Basingstoke.
At the time of writing, the 11.35 and 11.43 services to London Waterloo are delayed, whilst the 11.49 to Manchester Piccadilly is also delayed.
The 12.33 to Poole has been cancelled.
An alert on the South Western Railway website says: "We have been informed of a signalling failure in the Bournemouth area which is affecting all signals in the area.
"This means that all lines from Brockenhurst to Weymouth are blocked.
"We have requested replacement buses to call at all stations (in both directions) between Brockenhurst and Weymouth."
Tickets are currently being accepted on Great Western Railway services between Weymouth, Upwey, Dorchester West and Salisbury, with customers advised to change at Salisbury to reconnect with London-bound trains.
They're also being accepted on Cross Country trains between Bournemouth and Reading and Southern Railway between Southampton Central and Havant.
