POLICE are appealing for witnesses after a schoolgirl was hit by a van.
The incident took place on Pack Lane at around 8.45am on Tuesday morning.
The 11-year old girl was riding a bike and was injured, according to the police.
Hampshire Police later confirmed that the girl suffered serious, but not life threatening, injuries.
A police spokesperson said: "At around 8.45am on Tuesday, 8 October police were called to a road traffic collision on Pack Lane, involving a van and a bicycle.
"An 11-year-old girl, who was riding the bike, was injured.
"Anyone who witnessed the collision is asked to call police on 101 quoting 44190359247."
People took to social media yesterday to share their concerns for the girl.
Pedro Maia said: "I also saw it, was in shock, and was looking for news."
Katie Travers added: "It was heartbreaking to see wasn't it. I was hoping to see something to say she was ok, it quite upset me this morning."
