IF YOUR car is approaching an empty tank then it is worth bearing in mind that Sutton Scotney services are out of fuel.

The A34 southbound petrol station between Whitchurch and Winchester is currently out of diesel and petrol.

The services are located just south of the A303 at Bullington Cross towards the M3 junction 9.

The nearest station with fuel is the Texaco garage based in Sutton Scotney, which is a 13 minute drive away.

In November last year, the services was rated as one of Hampshire's most relaxing resting roadside areas.

In the study, Sutton Scotney scored an overall satisfaction rate of 97 per cent, with 86 per cent of motorists leaving the site relaxed or happy – 48 percentage points higher than when they arrived.

The Sutton Scotney site, which is north of Winchester and South East of Andover, includes a Costa, McDonald’s and a WHSmith.

Mark Fox, CEO of Roadchef, said at the time: “We’re delighted that Sutton Scotney has received such excellent feedback in the Transport Focus research.

"It is a testament to our team and the investment we have made at our sites that customers are leaving in a more relaxed and happy state than when they arrived, something which is key to improving road safety.

"Research like this highlights the key safety role our service areas play, because if you’re tired and stop during your journey, you will return to your vehicle happier, more relaxed and ultimately less likely to cause an accident.”
