WHILST the World Athletics Championships continue in Qatar, hundreds have turned out in Hartley Wintney for their annual pram race.

The eight races involved participants young and old, with toddlers, parents and professionals taking place.

Ben Orme won both the Scooter Sprint (aged 5-6) and the Scooter Endurance races, whilst Speedy Sophie and Lily Newborough won the Toddlers & Teddies and Scooter Sprint (aged up to 4) respectively.

Other winners include Duckling Crazy, Trolley of Triumph, WI Restoration Team and Zooming Zak.

Chris Tofts, of the Rotary Club of Hart, who run the event, said: "This year the Pram Race really took off.

"A huge increase in competitors of all ages and a great turnout from the village to support this popular annual event."

The event featured a charity raffle, with the proceeds going to Naomi House and Jacks Place the Children's Hospice.

The nearby fire station also hosted an open day, with firefighting equipment on display for children and adults to enjoy.
