RAIL passengers travelling via Basingstoke are set to face further disruption tomorrow (Sunday).

Track maintenance and safety inspections impacted Saturday services, with replacement buses running between Basingstoke and Woking.

And with some of those buses, as well as trains, affected by delays, some rail users had to take to Twitter to ask South Western Railway staff to hold the trains so that connections weren’t missed.

Another passenger took to social media to claim that “nobody has a clue” after station staff seemed unsure where some trains were headed.

More track maintenance and safety inspections are scheduled for Sunday in the Woking area, with further disruption expected.

Trains on the London Waterloo to Weymouth lines will again be diverted via Guildford, Havant and Fareham, meaning commuters from Basingstoke will need to connect with the diverted trains at Southampton Central.

However, stopping services to Poole will start at Basingstoke and a revised service will be running between Basingstoke, Salisbury and Exeter.

Some of these trains will start at Reading.

Fast bus services will run between Basingstoke and Guildford.
