THROUGHOUT September, members of the Basingstoke Gazette Camera Club have been snapping away on the monthly theme.

This time, the theme was “People of Basingstoke” to allow camera club memebers to get imaginative with capturing people in the borough in different environments. - as members of the club looked to capture great shots timed at just the right moment for a picture.

Images ranged from portraits, candid shots, artistic renderings and friends hanging out at a range of different locations across Basingstoke and Deane.

So whether it was smiling faces, staged images or just a chance encounter meeting the Basingstoke Gazette Camera Club, members of the club captured images of the people in a whole host of different varieties.

Scores of pictures were posted to the group on the theme with plenty of interaction between members providing feedback.

Anyone can join our dedicated Facebook group where members can share their best snaps and tips, get feedback and ask for advice.

Our competition will have a different theme each month, and we would love you to suggest some ideas for what you would like to see as well.

There will be a £25 prize for the themed contest winner, and the chance to get tips and advice from professional photographers.

Send us scenic pictures, weather shots or wildlife images – even snaps of your pets – all we ask is they are specific to our circulation area.

We run regular spreads of members’ work in the paper and online, with full credits in the captions accompanying all of the images used.

We also ask is that you provide a brief description of what the picture depicts, plus where and when the image was taken. The next theme will be announced on Saturday. To join the club and find out the next theme is, search for ‘Basingstoke Gazette Camera Club’ on Facebook. Or you can find the club directly by visiting facebook.com/ groups/421425494970241.
