A TEAM of primary schoolchildren got muddy for a good cause on Saturday.
Smannell and Enham Primary School pupils Kaysn Waite, Jake Waite, Freya Davies, Lucas Davies, Zachery Nicholls, Lewis Morton, Amy Morton, Amy Mcinnes, Ava Burton, Alfie Burton and Rudi Martindale, took part in the Pretty Muddy Kids Race for Life in Aid of Cancer Research.
The youngsters aged between six and 10, under the name of Smannell Mucky Pups, raised £1,500 thanks to donations from friends, family and school staff.
Kaysyn and Jake’s mum, Michaela said: “We are all so proud, really proud of them. It was quite emotional and lovely seeing how seriously they take it and how much fun they had taking part.”
Michaela appealed to parents for more children to take part in the Cancer Research event following her tradition with Kasyn of running the Race for Life since he was five-years-old.
Kasyn, now nine, had said how he wanted to do the race in aid of Michaela’s aunt, Julie, who died of cancer in 2009.
