A MAN has been charged with two counts of robbery and one count of attempted robbery following two alleged incidents in Southampton city centre.

The first incident occurred between 1.25am and 1.30am in East Park last Sunday.

A 22-year-old man and 25-year-old woman were reportedly approached by a man holding a knife who demanded they hand over cash.

The second incident happened between 11.15am and 11.30am on Dorset Street, also on Sunday.

A 49-year-old woman was reportedly approached by man carrying a knife and demanded she hand over cash.

The woman did not hand anything over and ran away.

Ben Michael Harris, aged 33, of Bitterne Road West, has been charged with two alleged robberies and an attempted robbery.

Harris will appear before Southampton Magistrates Court today.
