FITNESS fanatics in Basingstoke will now be able to work out all hours of the day as a new 24-hour gym opened its doors.

As previously reported in the Gazette, the Gym Group has added a site to its 169 premises portfolio in St Michael’s Retail Park, in Brighton Hill.

Today, the new facility officially opened its doors to new customers to take advantage of a range of state-of-the-art fitness equipment.

The Gym Group works on an ethos of low budget gym offer, which ensures flexibility for its members and to meet changing working habits and timings.

General manager of the new Basingstoke site, Luke Turner said: “When the Gym Group started the company brought about a new offer for people who wanted to go to the gym.

“What we offer is a low-price membership, which has no fixed contract to it, which a lot of people have said is important.”

He added: “Since we announced that we were coming to the town the reception has been positive.

“By offering facilities which can be accessed 24-hours a day people can fit their exercise around their own schedules, and we have free car parking unlike other facilities in the town centre.”

Luke said that they have already seen a number of people take advantage of their pre-sale memberships which allows an even lower price.

He added: “It shows that people want to come here by them signing up before we have even opened our doors.”

Customers to the Gym will have 24-hour access via a unique pass code which is assigned to them.

As part of their memberships they will also have access to a whole host of fitness classes which are run by dedicated personal trainers.
