A CYCLIST has suffered a serious head injury following a collision in Basingstoke.
The woman had been cycling along Eastrop Lane when she was involved in a crash with a stationary van.
Emergency services received a number of 999 calls from witnesses at about 1.40pm.
An ambulance crew were on the scene to treat the 44-year-old woman who was said to not be wearing a helmet.
A spokesperson for South Central Ambulance Service said: “The female cyclist is conscious and breathing and has sustained a head injury, unfortunately she wasn’t wearing a helmet which would have helped her in this instance.”
Police say the woman has now been taken to Southampton General Hospital for "treatment to serious injuries".
Updates as we have them.
