ENTRIES for a charity’s night-time fun run are set to close this week ahead of the big event on Saturday.

Hampshire and Isle of Wight Air Ambulance (HIOWAA) is hosting its Dash in the Dark 5km fun run on the night of Saturday, September 21.

Over 600 participants will assemble on Southampton Common at 7.30pm ready to run, skip, jump, walk or dance their way around the route.

The course will feature wind, light, sound and cloud mission tunnels and participants are encouraged to light up the night by donning neon face paints, fancy dress and glow sticks.

Midnight on Wednesday, September 18, will be the last chance for people to sign up for the event.

Entry costs £20 for adults and £16 for children. Registrations will be accepted on the day but will come at an additional cost.

HIOWAA’s Events Fundraiser, Nicole Davies, said: “Tickets for Dash in the Dark have been flying out of the door ever since we launched the run in March.

“Our supporters love getting involved in fun runs and we are already planning more mass participation events in the future.”

The warm-up for the race will begin at 7.15pm ahead of the 7.30pm start time.

Each participant will receive an official Dash in the Dark t-shirt and glow in the dark medal at the finish line.

The route is softly lit and paved throughout, and head torches are essential.
