DESPITE the glorious weather this weekend, it appears summer is well and truly over.
Shoppers were surprised on Saturday to find that Matalan's Basingstoke store have started stocking Christmas decorations... in September.
When a Gazette reporter visited to see whether the rumours were true, children coming into the store in Chineham shopping centre were clearly excited, with one young girl running immediately to the section.
Visible as you first enter the store, the section includes sparkly baubles, reindeers and other tree decorations.
Despite there being 102 days to go until Santa comes down the chimney, and, according to BBC Weather, it being 21 degrees outside, it seems it's never too early to start stocking up on supplies for Christmas.
