PASSENGERS travelling via Basingstoke train station will face disruption this weekend amidst four-day strike action affecting South Western Railway (SWR) services.
On both Saturday and Sunday, a reduced service will run on the Basingstoke to London Waterloo route, with one train running per hour in each direction.
Additionally, the SWR Sunday service between Basingstoke and Reading will not be running at all.
Weekday commuters will also be affected by the strike action which is due to continue into Monday.
Once again, a reduced service is set to operate on the Basingstoke to London Waterloo route, with one train running per hour in each direction.
Customers are strongly advised to check their journeys before travelling.
Earlier this week, disgruntled workers started a picket line outside the railway station as industrial strike action got underway.
The Rail, Maritime and Transport Workers (RMT) union are striking in a bid to protect the role of guards on SWR services.
They say it is a "safety critical role" and that SWR "have played fast and loose and attempted to kick this fundamental issue into the long grass" - whilst SWR say that they have agreed to keep a guard on every train.
Strike action began yesterday (Friday) and is set to continue until Monday.
