A BASINGSTOKE college is offering support for school leavers following GCSE results day later this week.

Whilst thousands of school leavers across the country will be anxiously counting down the days until they can find out their grades on Thursday, Basingstoke College of Technology (BCoT) will be hosting career drop-in sessions for students.

BCoT have been running the sessions throughout the summer and will be available on Thursday 22 and Friday 23 August to help students decide what to do next.

BCoT Principal Anthony Bravo said: “It’s really important that school leavers take control of their future and make the right decision on the course they study and which college they go to.”

He said that the drop-in sessions will offer students careers advice, application support and more information on the options available for the next step, saying: “For anyone still unsure which path to take, we’re encouraging them to come and see us.

“No appointment is necessary and you can just turn up.”

Those who can’t make it to the drop-in sessions can ring the college on 01256 306679 or email nextyear@bcot.ac.uk for advice.

BCoT is a further education college in Basingstoke that offers technical and vocational qualifications, enabling students to progress on to university, employment or an apprenticeship.
