A SHOPPING centre has been wrongly identified as a filming location for the latest Fast and Furious film.
Bosses at Festival Place were forced to deny claims after posts on Facebook said their outlet would be closed for filming.
The prank comes two days after it was reported that the ninth installment of the Hollywood series was being recorded at Greenham Common.
It appears jokers had optimistically hoped the Basingstoke-based shopping centre might be able to muscle in on the action.
But sadly tonight, a spokesman for Festival Place rubbished the rumours.
"We are not closed, it's just a rumour that has been spread. We are open as usual," a spokesman for Festival Place told The Gazette.
The news will come as a blow to Vin Diesel fans who were hoping to loiter around the centre to catch a glimpse of the Hollywood star.
