A WOMAN was grabbed in an early morning assault in Basingstoke on Saturday.

The incident happened at some time between 4am and 4.35am on 27 July in Frescade Crescent.

The woman, aged 18, was approached by a man who grabbed her. She was not injured.

The suspect is described as a white man, aged in his 30s, bald and around 5ft 11ins.

DC Manny Acheampong said: “We would like to speak to anyone who was in the area around the time of the incident, or may have been in Cordale Road or Castle Field Path prior to the incident as we believe this is the route the woman walked.

"If you were in the area, or if you have CCTV or dash cam footage, we’d like to speak to you as soon as possible as you may have vital information that could assist our investigation.

“As always, we’d like to remind members of the community to be vigilant, especially when walking alone at night.”
