A NEWLY-opened debt advisory service has welcomed the town’s MP to its base.
On Monday last week, Maria Miller met with Ben Martin, the centre manager at Christians Against Poverty (CAP) debt advisory service’s Basingstoke branch, connected with Gateway Church.
CAP offers a free service to people who feel burdened by debt.
Mr Martin explained how CAP offers home visits and support for those whose debts have spiralled out of control.
Mrs Miller said: “It was good to meet with Ben to hear what help is on hand for those burdened by debt.
“Ben explained that CAP offers practical and emotional support during what is an incredibly difficult time.”
