A MAN has been arrested after police uncovered a cannabis factory operating in a residential street in Basingstoke. 

Detectives made the discovery after searching an address in Warwick Road, Winklebury, on Friday. 

A 70-year-old man from Hook was taken into custody and later released on conditional bail, police revealed on Sunday.

He was arrested on suspicion of being concerned in the production of a class B drug and abstracting electricity without authority.

The cannabis factory was discovered after police searched the address last week.
