A FEW churches in Basingstoke have received a fresh batch of Deacons.
Both the parishes of Winklebury and Worting and Hartley Wintney will be gaining new additions from the latest batch of ordinations on Sunday, 31 June.
Of the ten, two will be coming to the area, with Matt Bianchi heading to Hartley Wintney, and Tim Dennis moving to Winklebury and Worting.
Tim said: “I wanted to become a priest because I can’t think of a more fulfilling or enjoyable thing to do.
"I want to help God’s people to grow in their love of Christ.
"I love teaching people the Bible, leading God’s people in worship and helping those who don’t yet know Jesus to get to know him.”
The Bishop of Winchester ordained the new deacons following two or three years of training.
