A BEAUTY queen has clinched the crown at a national competition.

Stephanie Wyatt, from Highclere, was awarded the title of Miss Earth England on June 22 at the Arden Hotel in Birmingham.

In addition to this, she was also given the award title of Beauties for a Cause Eco Ambassador for her work in teaming up with environmental, activities and social causes in the run up to the finals.

The 19-year-old will be representing England in the international contest later this year.

Stephanie said: “I am extremely honoured to be put in a position where I will be attending the Miss Earth Final, the third most prestigious platform in the world to represent England and meet so many like-minded women.

“I would like to thank the Miss Earth England organisation and I hope to do England proud, this is a dream come true.”

The Miss Earth England contest is an environmentally-focused competition for contestants to get their environmental message across.

One of the ways Stephanie did this on the night was to display an eco-warrior outfit she had designed and made from real flowers.

Stephanie set up a project in 2017 which helps to tackle clothing pollution and littering, as well as period poverty in developing countries.

She holds workshops locally to up-cycle unused clothing into re-usable sanitary wear for girls in Kenya.

During her time as winner, Stephanie hopes to set up more projects like this.
