A RETIRED member of staff who spent more than a decade at a care home was celebrated with a party of high tea.
Iris Richards, who has been a member of the housekeeping team at Ashcombe House care home in Worting Road for more than 10 years retired on June 28.
The afternoon was a double celebration as the home was also celebrating National Cream Tea Day at the same time.
The staff and residents celebrated Iris’ retirement with an afternoon high tea, with homemade scones and several varieties of herbal and fruit teas, as well as champagne to celebrate with cakes and other treats.
Iris said: “Ashcombe house staff and residents are like a family to me and though I’m looking forward to retirement, I’m really going to miss everyone here so much.”
