A 97-YEAR-OLD woman wowed residents and staff at a care home after revealing her hidden musical talents.

Mary Celano livened up an afternoon at Oak Lodge, in Oakley Hall by showcasing her skills on the accordion.

Residents were just settling down for afternoon tea on Friday, June 21, when Ms Celano took out the instruments and gave her fellow residents some musical relief.

Ms Celano played the accordion for many years and presented a picture of herself from her youth with her instrument.

She said: “I'm not bad for a 97-year-old!”

Residents, relatives and staff were pleased with the surprise and gave her a round of applause when she finished her spontaneous performance.
