THE Walled Garden at Down Grange will once again provide the picturesque back drop for a performance of some of Shakespeare’s much-loved work.

The Proteans, the adult drama group linked to the Proteus Creation Space, are to hold performances of Much Ado About Nothing.

The famous tale follows Benedick and Beatrice who are tricked into confessing their love for each other, while Claudio is tricked into rejecting Hero at the altar on the erroneous belief that she has been unfaithful.

Guests can expect classic pop hits, screwball comedy and the all usual irreverent fun in the Proteans take on one of the Bard’s best-loved comedies about misunderstandings, deception and love.

Performances at the Walled Garden have become a regular feature on the summer calendar in Basingstoke and provide a fun evening out for all the family.

Gates will open an hour before the performance, with audience members invited to bring a picnic and be entertained by tunes from a jazz band and soak up the atmosphere before the show.

Performances will be held tomorrow (Friday) at 7pm and then on Saturday and Sunday at 2pm.
