A WITCH with iron teeth. A lovestruck troll. A girl riding wild on a goat. And a skull with a mind of its own.
These are the tales which will be explored by Sarah Liisa Wilkinson.
The storyteller will delight the audience at the Tea Bar, in Top of The Town, tonight with her playful, comedic and always engaging style of exploring fairytales, but with an adult twist.
Sarah will be joined by Basingstoke-based band Wherewithal, which will be stripped back to wife-and-husband team Stacy Hart and Andy Wright.
They do their best to channel the beauty and pop sensibilities of bands like Blur and Crowded House, after dragging them through a few scuzzy hedges via peeps like Idlewild, PJ Harvey and Yo La Tengo.
The show, Strange Girls. Beautiful Monsters makes up part of this year’s Basingstoke Festival and will give guests spellbinding night of songs and fairytales for adults, with the weird, scary and very grown-up bits left in.
The performance will start at 7.45pm.
