A MAN has been banned from driving after causing severe fractures to a cyclist in a hit and run.
Abbas John, of Maidenhead Road, Windsor, pleaded guilty to careless driving, failing to stop at the scene of a collision and failing to report a collision after the incident in Jays Close at around 5.30am on January 14.
A 52-year-old woman from Basingstoke sustained a fractured skull and fractures to her ankle after she was struck by the vehicle John was driving.
At Basingstoke Magistrates Court on Wednesday last week, 58-year-old John was disqualified from driving for 12 months and ordered to complete 180 hours of community work.
He was also ordered to pay a fine of £710 with £85 costs.
