A BASINGSTOKE choir will be celebrating its 10th anniversary with a special concert at The Anvil this summer.

Basingstoke Rock Choir will be performing songs from their repertoire from the last decade, and will for the first time be accompanied by a live band.

Members of Fleet Rock Choir will also be joining them on stage at the show on July 20.

The audience can expect an uplifting performance, with popular songs including a powerful rendition of This is Me, the upbeat Higher Love and Elton John’s I'm Still Standing, which is expected to get everyone clapping along and tapping their feet.

The 150 strong choir will also perform a unique arrangement of Fall at Your Feet and With or Without You, which the members have recorded at the world-famous Air Studios in London.

Conducting the choir will be the super talented Glen Harvey who has been busy preparing members for a show-stopping performance to mark his 10th year as their choir leader.

He said: "It's been three years since we last performed at The Anvil and we are really excited to be returning to this venue for our ten-year anniversary concert.

"The show will be a one-off special to mark a decade since Rock Choir launched in Basingstoke, so you won't want to miss out on this exciting performance.

"We're working really hard practising all the songs and have a real variety with something for everyone, from The Electric Light Orchestra's Mr Blue Sky to Katy Perry's Roar, and with a live band accompany us, it's set to be a very entertaining evening."

Tickets for the show are now on sale from The Anvil.
