PART of a hospice has been given a makeover thanks to a group of volunteers.
Ten volunteers from Marks & Spencer Chineham visited St Michael’s Hospice to transform an area outside some of the facility’s patients’ rooms on June 3 and 4.
The team got stuck in and planted a hedge and spread gravel across an area that was previously grass.
Rhona Plummer, store manager at M&S Chineham, said: “We’re really proud to be coming together as a team to support St. Michaels Hospice.
“At M&S Chineham we care passionately about supporting in our community. The hospice is something we know our customers care about too and we’re really pleased to be able to get stuck into helping improve the grounds there.
“Volunteering makes a profound difference to communities, and we believe that lots of small actions from lots of people creates a lasting impact to charities that do so much good work for people in Basingstoke.”
