A TEAM of volunteers have helped give a pre-school a spruce up.
Castle Hill Pre-School, based in Kenilworth Road, Winklebury, was chosen by Marks & Spencers staff for a Volunteer Week project earlier this month.
A team of five volunteers helped with the ongoing development of the facility’s newly increased garden area.
The team renovated an access ramp and brightened up the entrance significantly while also treating wooden outdoor resources to prolong their use, and donated and constructed a bridge and a bench, to enhance the children’s outdoor experience at the facility.
A Castle Hill Pre-School spokesperson said: “This welcome support comes at just the right time to send our community the message that Castle Hill Pre-School is open for business as usual and is as good as ever.
“The secondary school site, where the pre-school is based, is in the process of being demolished and as yet, the future of the site has not been determined.
“Hampshire County Council have given us immeasurable support in being able to remain on the site long term, and part of this support was to increase our outdoor space. where the children play, learn and discover.
“Our plans for this new space are developing steadily and we thank the team from M&S for all their hard work and assistance in achieving some of these goals.”
