A CHARITY event has raised more than £11,000 to help towards providing new medical equipment for Basingstoke hospital.

For the third year running, the Frobury Farm Shooting and Fishing club, based in Kingsclere, held its annual fundraising clay pigeon shooting event.

Held at Folly Farm, in Ramsdell, the group was raising money to support the Hampshire Medical Fund.

Matthew Idiens and Jack Idiens won in the men’s categories with Catherine Skipworth and Sophie Herrmann claiming victory in the women’s event.

The estate challenge trophy and team high gun event was won by Andy Soaper and Kieran Jordon from Bradley Court Estate.

Paul Oldring from the Frobury Farm Shooting and Fishing Club, said: “Thank you to all the local sponsors, helpers and volunteers who helped this event raise £11.120.

“The money will now be used to commence the purchase of a MALDI MS bio scanner to test Sepsis blood poisoning within one minute for the Hampshire Medical Fund.”

In the three years the club has been running the event, it has raised more that £24,000 for the fund.

Hampshire Medical Fund exists to aid Hampshire Hampshire to attract and retain the best consultants, junior doctors, nurses and therapists at its three hospital sites.
