BASINGSTOKE Voluntary Action is inviting local charities, community and voluntary groups to a series of drop in sessions being held as part of Small Charity Week, which runs from June 17 to 22.
The objectives of Small Charity Week are to:
• Celebrate the contribution that small charities make to communities throughout the UK and across the world
• Improve the knowledge, representation and sustainability of small charities
• Highlight the work of the small charity sector to the broadest possible audience
• Encourage public giving
• Work with the small charity sector to develop political engagement at a national and local level
BVA is holding themed drop in sessions at The Orchard throughout the week:
• Tuesday, 18 June from 10am to 2pm with a focus of Big Advice Day – find out about our new membership benefits, update your groups information on our database, get grants and funding advice, discuss training opportunities – you choose the subject
• Wednesday, 19 June from 10am to noon with a focus of Community Projects – we have businesses interested in supporting community projects so come along and tell us about your upcoming projects and what you need to make them successful
• Thursday, 20 June from 10am to 2pm with a focus of Volunteering – what volunteering vacancies are you trying to fill? Let us help you advertise them.
Disabled parking is available at The Orchard - call 01256 423822 or email Orchardadmin@bvaction.org.uk. Otherwise please park at Crossborough Hill or one of the town centre car parks and Walk through War Memorial Park.
