A BAND has hit all the right notes to help out a charity.

Friday, 7 June was the release of Basingstoke-based indie folk rock band The Clearing's eponymous debut L.P.

At the launch party, limited edition CD editions of the album were sold with all proceeds to benefit St Michael's Hospice, raising more than £250 on the night.

The ten-track L.P, recorded in the band's own studio space, is available on many streaming platforms.

Bass player Dan Clark said "Our music may not melt faces but it may melt hearts, we've worked really hard on this album and I hope it shows, most importantly though it's been great to put something back into the community".
