A ‘NUISANCE’ pinch point in Beggarwood has been removed after years of campaigning.
The traffic measure, which was in Beggarwood Lane, had previously caused issues for motorists as it ‘caused more congestion’ than it alleviated, according to one of the ward councillors.
Beggarwood and Hatch Warren ward councillor, Cllr Dan Putty, said he had been campaigning to Hampshire Highways to remove the pinch point since it was built.
Cllr Putty said: “It was just a nuisance and it would cause a real problem for people coming down Beggarwood Lane.
“It just served no purpose and residents had come to me on several occasion with their feelings about it.”
He added: “After asking for years I am happy to finally see it being removed and hopefully it will now make for a smoother journey.”
