AN INDIAN restaurant in a Basingstoke shopping centre has celebrated its fifth year in business with a slap-up party.

Local councillors, customers and staff gathered in the Spicy Tadka restaurant in Festival Place on Sunday, 19 May to mark the fifth year in the area for the Indian restaurant.

A variety of dishes were prepared for the celebration, along with a cake to mark the occasion.

Around 70 people turned up throughout the course of the day to join in on the occasion.

Restaurant supervisor Russell Monteiro said: "We had lots of people come in over the course of the day to celebrate with us.

"Over the past five years, we have grown and only got better in that time.

"We have a five star hygiene rating from the council, and there are changes happening all the time.

"We are looking forward to the next five years and more in Basingstoke."
