A DECISION is set to be made on a proposal to construct a car wash facility in the car park of the Morrisons supermarket in Worting Road.
This is the third time the application to install a car washing facility with a canopy and portable building has been put to Basingstoke and Deane Borough Council.
The plans had previously been refused on grounds of ‘insufficient information’ but will now be put to members of the development control committee meeting with ‘clear’ detailed information.
A new planning statement submitted to the borough council read: “A detailed water quality statement forms part of this re-submission and confirms in summary that the enterprise is fully in accordance with pollution prevention guidelines.
“All heavy contaminants are taken away by a registered waste carrier and all measures within the current water regulation are strictly observed.
“Furthermore, spray screens will capture lateral spray emulation from the wash area.”
The plans have been recommeneded for approval by the borough council's planning officers with a decision set to be made at the meeting by councillors tonight (Wednesday, 15 May).
