STUDENTS from a Basingstoke secondary school demonstrated what matters most to them to their MP.
During a visit to The Vyne Community School, Basingstoke’s MP, Maria Miller also heard how the school is becoming greener through increasing recycling.
Mrs Miller also met headteacher Nicola Pearce, who assumed the role in January this year.
The MP said: “I was very pleased to visit the Vyne School again, and to meet Nicola Pearce, the new headteacher.
“It was great to hear about her plans for the school, with a clear focus on teaching and learning, and academic achievement.
“I was also really interested to meet members of the School Council, who told me about the issues around Basingstoke that concerned them and discussed ways of tackling them.
“I was very impressed with the breadth of their interests and the mature way they approached the issues.”
