STAFF at a care home celebrated International Nurses’ Week with an afternoon tea party.

Ashcombe House, in Worting Road, Basingstoke, hosted the party on May 1 to recognise the staff who go above and beyond the call of duty to look after residents in their care.

Nurses at the home were awarded with certificates and gifts to celebrate the hard work and passion they bring to the home.

Fatmata Cochrane, acting general manager at Ashcombe House, who is also a registered nurse at the home, said: “At Ashcombe our nurses are hard-working, dedicated and passionate about caring for older people.

“We are also committed to helping develop newly-qualified nurses with their leadership and clinical skills, which can often be invaluable in a career with increasing responsibilities and workload.”
