BRAMLEY is set to be a awash with music as a festival returns to the village.

The Bramley and Little London Music Festival will return to St James Church from June 13-15.

As well as providing a range of different musical acts for the community, businesses and stores will be giving their time to supply food and refreshments throughout the weekend.

This year’s festival will feature Claire Jones, who used to be the official harpist to the Prince of Wales, a brass quartet from the Guildhall School of Music, and Graffiti Classics who wowed audiences at last year’s event with their mixture of classical music.

Claire first played the festival in 2015, but she thought her musical career may have come to an end when she was diagnosed with ME.

However, the harpist has since gone on to record numerous records since her diagnosis.

Festival organiser Rachel Barclay Smith said: “You would have thought that once you had performed 180 times for the Royal Family, including one-to-one for Her Majesty the Queen, had played for the celebrity guests at Prince William’s wedding and performed in front of 75,000 people in the Millennium Stadium, playing in our little church wouldn’t really be top of your list of priorities.

“But you would be wrong. Claire Jones contacted us in 2017 to ask if she could come back to perform at the Bramley and Little London Music Festival.”

The festival features broadly classical and jazz genres.

Organisers pride themselves on being ahead of the curve and supporting young talent and throughout the weekend there will be showcased some of the upcoming talents in classical music as well as a number of other genres.
